Scholarships
SEA offers financial assistance to students who want to participate in our educational programming. See below for specific scholarship opportunities and application processes.
As of now (2/17/25) we have scholarship support available from both SEA and Belvedere Cove Foundation. Please read and consider the following points:
Do not apply to both Belvedere Cove Foundation and SEA Scholarships at the same time as that can cause confusion and delays in processing.
Apply to Belvedere Cove Foundation first so we can streamline and focus our use of funds.
When you apply for Belvedere Cove Foundation support, make sure to also email programdirector@sfsailing.org to let us know, so we can track your application and also so we can keep in touch if a desired session might be filling up.
Belvedere Cove Foundation
The Belvedere Cove Foundation considers scholarship requests for sailing-related activities for individual youth (under age 18).
Who should apply?
Any youth whose family’s financial situation precludes him or her from fully participating in a sailing program.
How long does the process take?
The process for review, approval, disbursement of funds can take up to three weeks.
Limited funds
The Belvedere Cove Foundation has a limited number of scholarships available each year.
SEA Scholarships
Through the generous support of the Zachrisson Family, the California Division of Boating and Waterways, and individual donors, SEA has general scholarship funds available and considers requests on an on-going basis and will award as our available funds allow.
Scholarships are on a sliding-scale based on annual household income.
You can apply for more than one student at a time.
Requests for multiple sessions for the same student will be considered on an individual basis.
If your family does not qualify under income guidelines but have special circumstances and are in need we encourage you to apply and outline those circumstances.
If you do not hear from us within a week of submitting an application, please reach out by emailing programdirector@sfsailing.org
